Just as I was getting the tux back from the environmentally friendly dry cleaner, it looks like it will be getting dirty again at another blogging award ceremony! I thought nothing could be as exciting receiving the coveted Versatile Blogger Award, but to be awarded a “Reader Appy” is pretty overwhelming.
The Readership Appreciation Award is is a lot like the VBA. They are both similar to email chain letters that bloggers award to each other AND I won them both so they are possibly the most important, Earth changing awards that have ever existed. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but TOOT, TOOT, tooooooot, TOOT!
I received the illustrious Appy from blogger Tom Lucas who populates the blog, Read Tom Lucas: Words That Burn. Tom is a great guy. He is what people call “a writer.” He actually writes. He uses words to paint pictures and evoke emotion. Damn, he is a cool guy… sharp dresser, tattoos, cool hair (or lack of). He looks like a guy in a smoke filled bar, inhabited by beatniks with bongo drums. This makes perfect sense considering Tom’s prolific skills at spoken word open-mic nights. He is a black beret away from being ironic. Follow the link above and start combing through his blog- be prepared for EDGY! And cool.
To follow the Reader Appy rules, I will now bestow the golden trophy on six blogs that I think are worthy of the award. They are not all vegan, but they are all worth checking out, in my humble opinion. Please keep in mind- there are tons of great blogs I pop in on from time to time, this is a small sampling of the awesomeness that is out there.
And of course, meet Tom here: http://readtomlucas.com/
If you get a chance to visit these blogs, leave a comment and tell them congratulations for winning the highly coveted Reader Appy.
I promise, I will not let this level of fame and fortune change me. I still remember my days as a blogger without two prestigious awards and I will not forget my humble roots. I still put my pants on one leg at a time like everyone else. Except cool Tom… he probably somersaults into his faded and ripped jeans with both feet. Maybe one day I will be capable of such rawness…
